Grozny is the capital of the Chechen Republic and one of the largest cities in the North Caucasus

There are 7 republics in the North Caucasus: Adygea, Karachay-Cherkessia, Kabardino-Balkaria, North Ossetia-Alania, Ingushetia, Chechnya and Dagestan, as well as two territories: Krasnodar and Stavropol.
