Overview
The city is located in the Galilee region of northern Israel, about 40 km from the Mediterranean Sea. It is the largest Arab city in Israel, home to about 76,000 people. It is known for its religious significance – Nazareth is the place of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary and the city where Jesus Christ was born and spent his childhood.

Millions of pilgrims come every year to visit the Church of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos (Church of the Archangel Gabriel and the Holy Spring above the Spring of the Most Holy Theotokos) and other religious attractions, including the Basilica of the Annunciation, built over the Grotto of the Annunciation and the Church of St. Joseph.
