The city is located in the Galilee region of northern Israel, about 40 km from the Mediterranean Sea. It is the largest Arab city in Israel, home to about 76,000 people. It is known for its religious significance – Nazareth is the place of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary and the city where Jesus Christ was born and spent his childhood.
