Europe

Europe is the second largest continent, occupying a fifteenth of the Earth's land area. The territories of Europe are considered to be from the Atlantic Ocean in the west to the Ural Mountains in Russia in the east, while Europe also includes the largest islands and archipelagos, including Novaya Zemlya, Franz Josef Land, Svalbard, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, the British Isles, the Balearic Islands, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Malta, Crete and Cyprus.

The border of Europe is indented by numerous bays, fjords and seas. The coastline of continental Europe has a length of about 38,000 km.

From the point of view of the territory, the division is abstract, because part of Europe is located on a common continent with Asia, which is called Eurasia.
