Central America

Central America is a region from the southern border of Mexico to the northwestern border of Colombia. You can often hear the term "The Isthmus of Tehuantepec", which is used by geographers adding also the part of Mexico east of the isthmus of Tehuantepec — the Mexican states of Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatan and Quintana Roo. However, it is generally accepted to consider the countries located between Mexico and Colombia as Central America; Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama.
