Wat Bang Riang Temple Complex, located on Khao Lan Mountain in Thap Put district in Phang Nga Province, combines Buddhist architectural traditions of China and Thailand and is one of the most interesting attractions in Thailand.
Wat Bang Riang is made unique by three main temple structures – chedi Rat Uppatham (Wat Rat Uppatham), the largest statues in the region – the goddess of mercy Guanyin and the seated Buddha.
Chedi Rat Uppatham
Wat Bang Riang is a functioning temple with monks living right in it. The atmosphere here is very quiet, from time to time the peace is disturbed by tourist buses.

A climb up the Nagami decorated with five-headed snakes leads to the Chedi courtyard, which is decorated with sculptures of golden Buddhas. Mythological and religious subjects are depicted on the walls of the Rath Uppatham copper. The altar, inside which the relics of the Buddha are kept, is considered sacred.
Entrance to the Temple is paid. To visit Rat Uppatam, certain rules should be observed: shoes should be left in front of the entrance to the sanctuary, you need to enter the Temple territory barefoot. The dress code at Wat Bang Riang is quite strict - parishioners must wear opaque robes covering the knees, shoulders and neckline. Do not worry if you have not prepared for a visit to the Temple, saris and tunics can be offered at the entrance.
